Pricing

Q: Can I cancel anytime?
A: Yes, you may cancel at any time for a pro-rated refund of your subscription.

Q: If my needs expand, can I upgrade my package in the future?
A: Clients can upgrade to a dedicated plan as their needs exceed the resources included with a shared plan.

Q: How much does Granite Commerce cost?
A: Please see our Plans & Pricing page.

Q: Can I buy Granite Commerce software and host it myself?
A: No. Granite Commerce is complete solution, not just a software package. In order to maintain optimal reliability and security, we only offer Granite Commerce as a hosted solution.

Trial Subscription Questions

Q: Can I keep my trial subscription store data?
A: Yes, this is possible in most cases.

Q: Can I change the site design/appearance with the trial subscription?
A: The header and footer cannot be modified with a trial subscription.

Q: What can I do with the trial subscription ?
A: You'll have full access to all functionality with your trial subscription.

Q: How do I acquire a trial subscription?

Q: I've completed my review of my trial subscription and I'm ready to purchase a subscription. What's next?
A: Please click here to sign up for your account. Please call or email us to request the transfer of your trial subscription data to your paid subscription.

Hosting/E-mail

Q: Are hosting and e-mail included in the monthly subscription fee?
A: Yes, hosting and email are included with your subscription fee.

Q: Can I upgrade my email or storage capacity?
A: Yes. Disk storage usage exceeding 1.5GB will be assessed and billed monthly at a rate of $.02/per MB. Bandwidth exceeding 20GB will be assessed and billed monthly at a rate of $.02/per MB.

Q: Where are Granite Web's servers located and how is our data protected?
A: Our web servers are located in an industry-leading data center facility located in Michigan. All servers are protected with RAID redundancy as well as nightly onsite and offsite backups.

Q: Can I access my store from any computer?
A: Just about. All you need is a PC running Internet Explorer 6+ or Firefox 2+ to manage your backoffice area.

Set Up

Q: Can I integrate Granite Commerce into my existing website?
A: Yes, but it's preferred that you make Granite Commerce your new website.

Q: Can I use Granite Commerce as a stand-alone solution?
A: Absolutely. This is the preferred method of deploying a Granite Commerce site.

Q: How long will it take to setup and launch my store?
A: This varies depending upon the size of the product catalog and the amount of time you have to devote to your site. Setup and launch typically takes a minimum of 3 weeks.

Q: Can I build my new online store while my other Web site is still live?
A: Sure. This is the preferred plan of approach.

Q: Can I use my own domain name?
A: Yes. If you do not have a domain name, we can assist you in purchasing one.

Q: Can I import my data from a spreadsheet into my Granite Commerce store?
A: Absolutely. We'll also assist you with the first import. Our solution features advanced product import functionality to import your existing product catalog data.

Q: I've purchased my solution. Now what?
A: You will be contacted by one of our staff to help you coordinate the setup steps. You'll also be provided with a site launch checklist.

Q: My site is ready to launch. What do I do?
A: Please contact our technical support to make your site live.

Web Design

Q: Can Granite Web design my site?
A: Absolutely, That's how we started as a company, designing Web sites!!!!

Q: Does Granite Web offer logo creation, button creation or any other customer programming options?
A: We offer a full set of services to compliment your Granite Commerce subscription. Typically, if it's not a service that we offer directly, we will have a partner that we can contact to assist you.

Q: Do I have to know HTML?
A: No. We can handle the header and footer customization during the setup. Everything else is easily managed via the Granite Commerce backoffice area.

Q: Can I design my own site?
A: Sure. We can typically even implement your specific design for you during the setup process.

Merchant Account and Payment Gateway

Q: What is a merchant account?
A: A merchant account is a type of bank account that allows businesses to accept payments by debit or credit cards. A merchant account also serves as an agreement between a retailer, a merchant bank and payment processor for the settlement of credit card and/or debit card transactions.

Q: Do I have to get a merchant account?
A: NO, but if you want to represent yourself as a serious, professional business and would like to accept credit cards on your site, then you will need a merchant account.

Q: What if I already have a merchant account?
A: Ad long as your merchant account provider supports the Authorize.net secure payment gateway, then you can use your existing merchant account.

Q: Does Granite Web offer merchant accounts?
A: Yes, we are an official Authorize.net Reseller Partner.

Q: What is an SSL Certificate?
A: An SSL certificate is digitally "signed" by a certificate authority, such as Verisign or Thawte, that web browsers already trust. This allows the web browser to verify the identity of a secure site before sending private personal information, such as bank account or credit card numbers.

Q: Does Granite Web offer SSL certificates?
A: Yes, and the first year subscription includes your first year's SSL subscription.

Q: What do I need to have in order to process payments online?
A: A merchant account connected to the Authorize.net gateway, along with an SSL certificate.

International Customers

Q: Can I use Granite Web E-commerce Software if I live outside of the United States?
A: Granite Commerce is geared primarily towards US merchants. We do not recommend our solution for merchants outside the US.

Site Traffic and Marketing

Q: How can I get high placements in the various search engines?
A: Granite Commerce contains a variety of Search Engine Optimization and marketing features to improve your search engine indexability and placement.

Q: Can Granite Web help me market my products?
A: You bet! We offer full service marketing and SEO services!

Q: How will I know how well my store is doing?
A: You can track your store's performance via Google Analytics (for conversion reporting) as well as AWSTATS and Webalizer stats for content reports.

Q: Can I suggest new features?
A: Absolutely, We love customer input, ideas, and suggestions. You can submit your suggestions as a support ticket or via email. Granite Commerce was built on the suggestions and input from our clients!!!!

Q: Do I get a discount if I purchase more than one subscription?
A: Absolutely. For clients with multiple stores, we can make provide special discounts.

Q: I am a web designer, digital agency or ISP. Do you have a partner program?
A: Yes. While it is still in development, we are always looking for partners to help us expand our customer base. Please contact us for details.
