Search Engine Spiders
have to crawl through your site one line of code at a
time. If you've ever viewed source code, you should understand
that there is a big difference between the way we view
things on the web and the order it is presented in the
code. Search Engine Spiders read tables from left to right,
and top to bottom.
With a little table arranging you should be able to eliminate
most of the problems tables can cause in your designs.
Yet, if you get confused there is a basic solution. Just
view the HTML code on your page from top to bottom. The
Search Engine Spiders will always follow this path too.
Search Engine Spiders weigh the content that appears highest
on a page with a greater weight than what follows in the
lower & middle sections. Please, include keyword heavy
content as high up on the page as possible. A good rule
of thumb is: Search Engine Spiders will weigh the first
25 words very heavily.
The game used to be based on titles and meta tags more
so than just about anything else. As spammers ruined the
high value of meta tags, and the web jumped out to goliath
proportions, the game became truly focused on page content
and how it is presented.
Search Engine Spiders can count faster than you can. They
can tell if you are using text the same color as your
background color, while some can even tell if you're using
complete sentences.
You need to present your site content and code to the
Search Engine Spiders in such a manner that they can tell
exactly what a particular page is about. This must be
done in a carefully balanced and ethical manner. |
