Every time you have your email client, such as Outlook, Eudora, Netscape check for new email, by default it will download copies of the messages from the mail server, then REMOVE them from the mail server. Once a message is removed or deleted from the mail server, we no longer have a copy of that message. The only copy will be the one on your local computer. If you later try to check your email from work or from the SquirrelMail Webmail interface, you will only see messages that are currently still sitting on the mail server. Therefore if you have previously downloaded a message from home and it has been removed from the mail server, it will not show up at work or on the Webmail page. If you want to check your email from more than one place, the easiest thing is to set your email program to leave a copy of each email message on the mail server. For instructions on doing so, please go here, and choose your email program. - Updated: March 18, 2002
