8. What is the difference between a Web page and a Web site?

A Web site is made up of a home page and usually a number of Web pages. Each Web site must have its own unique domain name. Owning a Web site as opposed to a Web page provides the owner with the following benefits: the Web site can be registered with directories like Yahoo as well as search engines; the Web site can be hosted by any company that hosts Web sites giving you the freedom to change which hosting company you use; the domain name can be used for your e-mail address (as in simon@graniteWebdesign.com) allowing you to change your ISP without ever having to change your e-mail address. - Updated:
