On May 15 2012 Shopzilla introduced a new program called Smart Pricing for all traffic in 11 subcategories. Smart Pricing varies your CPC charges by conversion and performance so if clicks do not convert at a high level your average CPC charge will be less. In order for the program to work Shopzilla had to increase minimum bids in these categories. However, since not all products were charged at the full level the average billed CPC was not significantly changed. Most merchants saw little increase in billed cost per click.
The best news is that since the Smart Pricing rates went live on July 18 there have been no further rate card adjustments this year. This means NO HOLIDAY INCREASE!
Smart Pricing will ultimately allow us the flexibility to bring our merchants better quality leads and more sales. New rates will be in effect beginning July 18. Download new rate card here.
